While we know our blog has usually been filled with recent work and occasionally a personal post or two, it’s time to get more personal in 2020! We’re finally starting up this idea I had a while ago. What the heck are the Walker Sisters doing when they’re not shooting?! I aim to come in here weekly, maybe biweekly if my week was indeed the most boring of all 😉 and we’ll be sharing more of our wanderings. In case you didn’t know, Amy and I DO hang out outside of business. When we say we’re best friends, we mean it. We’re probably seeing each other at least once a week and we both have fun things we like to do that don’t involve shooting weddings, ha.
So come hang out with us, sign up for the newsletter so you get these updates straight to your inbox, and let’s chat in the comments! Let’s make 2020 the year we all get back to actually engaging with each other on a personal level, instead of scrolling, tapping, and swiping. You in? K. Cool.
For week one, we’re starting in 2019, because who doesn’t love Christmas? (If you don’t, no worries, but it’s pretty much my fave). It was a busy week. I’ll skip Thanksgiving, because you all did that too here in America 😉 My husbands birthday was on Friday which was actually the perfect relaxing day, ending with bowling and shuffleboard at a bar, but I didn’t really take photos. Therefore we’re going to share our wanderings from Saturday!
Our grandfather was recently in the hospital after a fall and our grandmother has had a few recent surgeries. So the two of them, while they currently manage to live on their own, weren’t going to be able to decorate for Christmas. Enter….FAMILY! Obviously! You all know Amy and I believe in family, we talk family, we love shooting families, we love that weddings mean the joining of two families together. We don’t just talk about it though, we live by it. Giving up a Saturday to help our grandparents decorate for Christmas, one of my grandma’s favorite things, was completely worth the smile on her face at the end of the day.
Plus, we only broke three ornaments (oops haha. that’s what happens when the great grandkids help too!).
The first snow is always most exciting for me so I pop outside with my camera. I have fun trying to shoot it differently every time so it’s not just “another snow picture” which this time was easier because of all the ice on the trees! So enjoy these few photos from my quick venture outside (it was cold!)
We hope you enjoyed week one, episode one, volume one….whatever we end up calling these, of WS Weekly Wanderings. What were you up to this past week? Share with us in the comments! We’re always looking for more fun things to do when we’re not out shooting client work 🙂 And follow the tag on Insta #wsweeklywanderings to keep up with us there!
Talk so soon!
